Research Fellow:  Capacity Constraint Modelling.

You will work on a joint project funded by National Grid to investigate methods of anticipating capacity constraint issues in the UK gas network in forecasting medium and long term requirements. The project is entirely joint and the fellow will work on a day to day basis with teams at both the University and National Grid Offices in Warwick.

You must hold or be near completion of a PhD, or equivalent, in statistics or areas of operational research related to optimisation under uncertainty. You will have experience of, and strong research potential in most of the following areas: Statistics including emulation and pattern recognition, computational methods relating to statistics and constrained optimisation. A good knowledge of computational statistical and/or operational research techniques is essential, as are strong programming skills. You will have demonstrated potential for excellence in research and an emerging track record of publication in high quality, peer reviewed journals.
