Hello Everybody, We tried to improve the direct flight from Buenos Aires to San Rafael city, but it was not possible to add another flight. We are very sorry about this. However we want to tell you that we have some options for those who are arriving to the conference via Mendoza. There is a company working with us which offer a shuttle from Mendoza Airport to San Rafael city: -Saturday 20th. 7 pm -Sunday 21st. 7 pm. The cost of this shuttle is USD 25.- per person. If you want to book a place, you have to send an e-mail to [log in to unmask] They also have the following services: -Private transfer from Mendoza Airport to San Rafael City for two people (by Car): USD 320 -Private transfer from Mendoza Airport to San Rafael city for 3 to 12 people (Small Bus): USD 430 (for all the group) -Private transfer from Mendoza Airport to San Rafael City for 10-15 people (Small Bus): USD 470 (for all the group) If you want to use any of these services, you have to contact: [log in to unmask] We will post this information in the web site of the conference, but if you have any colleague or friend interested in these services, please circulate this information with them. If you have any question, please contact us. Thank you so much, Clara ________________________________ De: Vivian Scheinsohn <[log in to unmask]> Para: [log in to unmask] Enviado: lunes, 11 de agosto de 2014 10:27 Asunto: Re: [ZOOARCH] FWD: Re: [ZOOARCH] ICAZ meeting- Flights to San Rafael It would be better to get the ticket before, since the very same ICAZ is driving a lot of people to San Rafael. But , as was said on the list, buses system in Argentina do not allow to buy tickets with more than 30 days before the trip. So, you have to wait until August 20th or so, to buy your ticket. You have to bear in mind that your international flight arrives to Ezeiza airport and you have to take the bus in Retiro Terminal. Depending on the traffic (Buenos Aires is a huge city), that trip, could take up to 2 hours. So allow enough time between your arrival to Buenos Aires and departure to San Rafael (quite restricted because all buses depart around 9 PM). The better way to travel from Ezeiza to retiro is to book a "remise" (rented car with driver) at the stand in the hall of Ezeiza airport ( just when you exit customs,). Avoid the guys vociferating taxis at the main hall (they are not reliable). There exists a bus going to Retiro from Ezeiza (Manuel Tienda Leon) but, as long as I can recall, they leave you 4 blocks away from the bus terminal and, it is not a nice area to go by walking. If you depart to San Rafael at the very next day, ask in the hotel front desk for a remise or taxi to Retiro bus terminal. They will recommend you a safe one. Would one need to make reservations to get two buses tickets from the Buenos Aires airport San Rafael or are they running enough in time that when we (my son and I) get there we can then get tickets? I appreciate your reply on this. Thank you! Bruce L. In this way you can sleep at the bus and arrive next morning. Try to get the Cama Suite to sleep comfortably ( and avoid Semi-cama!!!) We will take the bus from there. It is not an easy journey from New York. We go from NY to Panama City to Cordoba to Mendoza, but it was, by far, the cheapest option available according to Google flights.
