Digital Preservation Policy Framework: A Case Study (EDUCAUSE Review) | EDUCAUSE.edu
when more and more content and data are born digital or converted to digital to enhance access, archives and libraries, researchers, and institutions grapple with providing effective digital preservation to keep this content accessible not just now but well into the future. In 2012, The Ohio State University Libraries (OSUL), with a cross-functional team representing OSUL's institutional repository, information technology unit, and special collections and archives, embarked on a year-long process to develop a digital preservation policy framework. The purpose of the framework is to formalize our "…continuing commitment to the long-term stewardship, preservation of, and sustainable access to [the library's] diverse and extensive range of digital assets."1
