The industrial archaeology and history are well promoted the site is accessible and there are interpretation boards. The tramway is visible on the ground and you can walk the entire length up to the loch

I will be on the isle next month for about a week, staying in Potree and will have a look!
On google you can see the track but a personal vieuw is still better!!!

I went past the site of the tramway a few years ago. As I was rushing to get
a ferry I didn't stop, but my recollection was that there was a track from
the road to the shore and presumed discharge point. I'd need to look again
at a map to refresh my memory

There was an aerial ropeway from Loch Valerian to transport diatomite to
Staffin Bay in the north of Skye, is anyone able to tell me where on the bay
it terminated or how long it was in use. I understand that it was
constructed in or around 1930.
