We are currently evaluating changes to the library helpdesk and are interested in hearing from any other university libraries who are responsible for issuing AV/media equipment e.g cameras, camcorders, lighting kits etc…

We would like to know the following:

• Who issues the equipment in the library: library staff or media staff?
• If it is library staff do all staff members issue or just specially trained staff?
• Do you have a separate desk for media loans to be issued from?
• Do the items get checked out on to their library account?
• Are students responsible for checking the equipment before they leave and if so do you have a specific checking area for them to do this from?
