Following a very successful first conference last September, the Northern Collaboration is pleased to invite you to their second annual conference-

 

“Engagement & Audiences”

Northern Collaboration Conference, 5^th  September 2014 hosted by Teesside University at their Darlington Campus

 

This one day conference will be of interest to all who engage with higher education. It provides a current view of the broad engagement university libraries have within and beyond the campus, supporting the growing diversity of university activity, working with different audiences to support educational and wider cultural developments in a changing world. The conference brings together colleagues from across the 26 academic libraries who form the Northern Collaboration to share their best practice and to stimulate ideas for future development.

 

Themes are:

• Partnership and the Wider Community: working with education partners; community collaboration; extending services to different groups such as alumni; libraries as cultural institutions.
• Reaching Mobile Audiences: the demands and opportunities of delivering to mobile audiences, cross-institutional collaboration and engaging distant audiences.
• Enhancing the Student Experience: students working with libraries; students offering peer support; listening to the student voice; students as producers; building communities of knowledge.
• Supporting Research: changes in the research and publishing environment; the opportunities to extend the library role and to reach out to different audiences engaged in research; students as researchers.
