Dear Protein structure-function enthusiasts,
just to bring this to your attention!

The 1st workshop on Interdisciplinary Approaches to Protein Structure-Function is to be held in the School of Applied Sciences, University of Huddersfield on the 25th-26th of September 2014. The workshop aims to introduce junior researchers to an array of effective and/or innovative methodologies in probing the structure-function relationship of proteins. The workshop premiers with a strong biophysical theme, bringing together experts in structure/function genomics, molecular dynamics, solid state NMR, X-ray crystallography and oriented circular dichroism. Industry scientists will further contribute to this workshop by providing information on crystallisation microseeding (Douglas Instruments), SAXS (Bruker) and Microscale Thermophoresis (NanoTemper Technologies GmbH).

Day one will include a series of talks offered by experts and our industry sponsors. Day two will conclude the workshop with talks/closing remarks and the afternoon section will be offered to the participants for analysing protein samples thermophoretically, should they wish to. Alternatively, participants may be offered a guided tour to our Bruker Centre of Excellence for X-ray Crystallography.
