We are pleased to advertise a new vacancy at King’s College London for a Black and Minority Ethnic (BME) Student Attainment Officer (0.6 FTE and fixed term for 2 years). The post will be based in the Organisation Development Team along with other colleagues
working on inclusion and the salary band is £27,057
to £31,342 per annum pro rata with £2323 London weighting.
King’s is committed to narrowing the attainment gap for BME students, a trend that is observed within Higher Education nationally. In order to address this, it intends to develop an evidence based programme of activities primarily focusing on the provision
of appropriate support and the development of inclusive learning, teaching and assessment strategies. A small working group has been in place since January 2014 chaired by the Vice Principal (Education) focusing on the issue of the BME attainment gap.
The BME student Attainment Officer will build on the progress that has been made, playing a key role in the coordination of the remaining aspects of the research phase, supporting the development of an implementation plan and working with Faculties and
central Directorates to devise, put in place and evaluate interventions that are intended to improve the outcomes of these students.
Best wishes
