Thanks, yes, the draft NICE guidance answers my question. It seems to focus on promoting awareness and availability of over the counter supplements. (Tesco does a 7.5 ug children's supplement at £1 for 90 tablets (also subject to a 3 for 2 offer), and Asda has infant vitamin D drops for £2.) It does not suggest that GPs should start writing vitamin D prescriptions for everybody in the high risk categories.
