Dear all, Thanks for all your comments about the feedback: to give a synopsis, I think that the points that have come out are: (original points) 1) Is the low level hardware monitoring relevant and necessary at many sites; could this be made opt-in? 2) Useful to focus on functional tests, cf the existing Nagios probe (additional points) 3) Consider previous work, cf https://twiki.cern.ch/twiki/bin/view/LCG/SquidMonitoringTaskForce 4) How does service discovery work? 5) If using Nagios probe in some fashion was considered, keep in mind how it might be used for local sites 6) Important to understand and explore the underpinnings of access, purpose and scope of tests Cheers, David
