Postdoctoral Scholar at the University of Maryland, USA
Dr. Tracy Riggins and Dr. Elizabeth Redcay in the Department of Psychology at the University of Maryland College Park (United States of America) are seeking a postdoctoral fellow to assist with a collaborative research project examining the development
memory using functional and structural magnetic resonance imaging. The goal of this work is to characterize changes in the structure and function of the hippocampally-mediated episodic memory network during early childhood, when gains in episodic memory are
greatest. The primary hypothesis is that episodic memory development results from changes in the hippocampus and its progressive, integrative participation and segregation with cortical areas.
The position will involve participation in all levels of the research investigation. Some responsibilities will include: (1) analyzing behavioral and neuroimaging data; (2) overseeing behavioral and MRI data collection,
and (3) assisting with writing manuscripts for publication.
Required qualifications include: 1) a Ph.D. in a related scientific field (e.g., psychology or neuroscience) and 2) previous experience conducting fMRI data analyses (preferably analyses examining functional connectivity and/or developmental
change). Experience conducting research with children and writing scientific manuscripts/grant applications is strongly preferred.
This is a full-time position with benefits. A 2-year commitment is preferred but not required. Review
of applications will begin immediately and continue until the position is filled. Interested individuals should email a cover letter describing their background and future goals, CV, and names
of 3 references and contact information in a single pdf file to:
