A question about versions of documents within a SharePoint EDMS environment.
This is the scenario.
A policy document x sits on the system for all to see.
The policy is then updated
There are now 2 policy documents x on the system for all to see.
The policy is again updated
There are now 3 policy documents x on the system for all to see
You need to retain the earlier versions so you can place actions taken relating to that which the policy covers during the time that a particular version was live in their context.
However, how do you ensure people look at the right version?
Is the only answer to change the filename and title to indicate when it was live?
