Influencing pro-environmental behaviour:

Ways to encourage pro-environmental behaviour of individuals and communities

Monday 15th September 2014, Sheffield

10am-5pm

The British Environmental Psychology Society (BrEPS) is a newly founded network of social scientists who are interested in the interplay between individuals and their built and natural environment.

We are pleased to invite you to our inaugural one-day conference hosted by members of the Environment and Behaviour Research Group in the Department of Psychology at The University of Sheffield. This conference will be an excellent opportunity for Masters and PhD students as well as early career researchers in any field of social sciences to present, network, and collaborate with each other.

We invite applications for two types of contribution:

1) Presentation: 20-minute presentation followed by 10 minutes of discussion.

2) Host a World café discussion: 5 minute presentation of a topic (e.g., from your research or a particular issue related to the conference theme) followed by 20 minutes of discussion. This will be a small-group activity in parallel sessions.

To apply for a presentation please submit an abstract of a maximum of 400 words. To apply for hosting a word café discussion you will need to submit an abstract and a few discussion questions of a maximum of 200 words. The topic of the abstracts should relate to environmental sustainability, with a particular focus on the factors influencing and encouraging pro-environmental behaviour of communities and individuals.

The deadline for abstract submission is 15th August 2014 at 5pm

Registering is essential but the conference is free for all attendants.
