Dear Everyone,

 

Just to let you know about some training at the University of Ulster which you may be interested in; there is a reduced fee for postgraduate students. The Research and Statistics Summer School has a strong tradition in national and international expertise in methodology applied to the health sciences. This year the Bamford Centre for Mental Health and Wellbeing, the All Ireland Hub for Trials Methodology Research, and the Psychology Research Institute will run a two week course on the following topics on the Magee campus (Derry/Londonderry, Northern Ireland) at the University of Ulster. The courses include:

 

·         28th July: Systematic Reviews in Healthcare

·         29th July: An Introduction to Economic Evaluation in Healthcare OR Qualitative research methods

·         30th July: SPSS for beginners OR Action Research

·         31st July: Linear regression using SPSS

·         1st August: Moderated Mediation and Introduction to Structural Equation Modelling in Mplus

·         4th August: Logistic regression models in SPSS and Mplus

·         5th August: Latent class analysis using Mplus

·         6th August: Data Linkage

·         7th August: Measurement theory and factor models using SPSS, AMOS and Mplus

·         8th August: The analysis of change (including Randomised trials) in AMOS and Mplus

Note courses on 31st July and 1st August, 4th and 5th August, and 7th and 8th August are designed to complement each other but can be taken separately.

 

Each course costs £120 per day; if you are a student, unwaged or work for a charitable organisation, the fee is £60 upon proof of status. If you book 4 days, you can choose another session for free (from the above list). The courses are designed to be of interest to researchers across a range of institutions and disciplines, but most examples will draw upon health science topics.
