Dominic: While videos are problematic an oer license is useful none-the-less. It allows for adaptations for purposes like making a prentation useful for handicapped users. You may also like the lesson and want to make the same one in another language. In the ANimated Tutorial Sharing project we encourage people to add their local library brands or links to their web pages, lib guides, further contacts names, etc. Hope this helps Carmen Kazakoff-Lane ________________________________________ From: Open Educational Resources [[log in to unmask]] on behalf of Orr, Dominic [[log in to unmask]] Sent: Sunday, July 20, 2014 9:04 AM To: [log in to unmask] Subject: Re: MOOCs as not quite OER Hi, I have also been taken by the opportunity OERs provide for making new MOOCs and the possibility of MOOCs be broken down into OERs for new courses. I am wondering about Khan Academy, which is listed as CC-BY-NC-SA. I presume that this refers to the videos (with or without integrated assessments). I also presume that it is not possible, however, to further unpack the individual videos or assessment parts for other purposes (i.e. re-mixing on a lower level). I had the impression that this was not permitted, but couldn't find anything confirming or not this apart from a forum post.
