This data paper describes the complete Australian dataset of 5,044 radiocarbon determinations from 1,748 archaeological sites across Australia as well as a further 478 non-radiocarbon ages. It undertakes a brief review of the data composition, strengths and weaknesses and highlights areas for developing the dataset and re-use potential. The dataset itself has been deposited with the Archaeology Data Service.
