Drug Matrix Bite 8: Management matters | ||
In controlled studies it may be possible to divorce
interventions from the management of the service delivering them, but in
everyday practice, whether interventions get adopted and adequately
implemented, and whether practitioners can maintain recovery-generating
attitudes and knowledge, depend on management and supervision. This
instalment of the Matrix Bites course particularly explores whether
managers should place themselves in the patient’s shoes and whether they
can promote change by applying the cycle of change model. Before that is
an uplifting story of how sensitive management and administration
transformed poor aftercare attendance, helping embed treatment gains.
