The 2014 edition of the annual international review of leave policies and research is now available. You can find it at the website of the international network on leave policies and research: go to www.leavenetwork.org, then click on ‘Leave Policies & Research’. This year it covers 35 countries, including: most EU member states; Norway, Iceland and Switzerland; Russia; Israel; Australia, Brazil, Canada, Japan, New Zealand, South Africa and the USA.

The review consists of detailed reports on these countries. Each report includes sections on: leave polices; the relationship between leave and early childhood education and care; policy developments over the last year; take-up of leave; and recent research and publications. In additions, there are a number of cross-national analyses comparing the 35 countries on different kinds of leave.

As usual, you can access the review in two ways. Either you can work with and download the complete document (click on ‘Review 2014’). Or you can choose to work with and download individual country reports (click on ‘County reports’) and individual sections of comparative data (click on ‘Cross country’).

You will also find guidance on how to cite the whole review or individual country notes.

The review is a large undertaking, and there are bound to be some mistakes in it. If you come across any, or if you have any queries or suggestions about how to improve the review, please get in touch with me  ([log in to unmask]).
