Archives Manager

 

An exciting opportunity has arisen within DC Thomson for an Archives Manager.  This opportunity will put the successful candidate at the heart of our archive department. 

 

In this role you will have the following key responsibilities:

 

• Manage policies, procedures and staff for the DC Thomson archives
• Manage the processes of appraisal, organisation, cataloguing, storage and preservation of all archival records
• Play a central role in the development and maintenance of DC Thomson’s digital assets and coordinate the digitisation of physical archive materials as required
• Assist with the identification of commercial potential in the Company’s digital and other records and information assets
• Implement the processes necessary to provide secure and appropriate accommodation for the Company’s business records
• In partnership with other department, foster partnerships to support the DC Thomson Archive function and increase the profile of the collections

 

It is anticipated you will have a formal qualification in Archive & Records Management and extensive experience of working in similar roles.  You will be a strong people manager able to demonstrate effective leadership skills.  You should be a creative thinker, with the ability to instigate and manage multi projects.

 

You must be IT literate, and possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills. An organised approach with meticulous attention to detail is essential.
