This role has the ability to be performed either at Senior Statistician or Research Director level for a major Social Research company. This company has a reputation as an industry leader in all areas of social policy, and this role would see you join an established team of 4 other statisticians.

 

Typical responsibilities in this role will include:

·         Provision of statistical support, design and analysis on quantitative research projects and social surveys

·         Designing sample strategies and generating weights

·         Contribute to research and technical reports

·         Methodological design and experimentation and general survey design

·         Disseminate statistical work via conferences and reports/papers

·         There is also the opportunity for involvement in secondary analysis, programme evaluations and teaching

 

At Research Director level, candidates would also be responsible for directing methods research projects and supervising/mentoring less experienced Statisticians, as well as provide input into the tendering process for research projects.

 

For this role, my client are seeking people with the following attributes:

·         Experience in survey statistics is essential, though can be from any previous sector

·         Minimum 3 years’ experience for the Senior level, and 6 years for the Director level

·         Familiarity with SPSS, Stata or a similar statistical package

·         Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously

·         Academic qualification in Statistics or related discipline
