Hi Darren

I am probably too late with this but it would be useful to see any info you have collated.

* Is the change a good thing? In one way yes as it will help concentrate our efforts

* Do you think your institution will be able to meet the new criteria (or are they designed for a different type of sector)? No - I don't think they suit this sector

* Are the changes welcomed by your LGBT Staff? I don't know as I haven't had a chance to speak with them. However, as these changes will probably result in us coming out of Stonewall then probably no!

* Will these changes drive forward positive changes within your institution, or divert resources into activity simply to tick the box? If we tried to do all this then it would simply divert resources already in short supply.
Perhaps ECU could come up with a sector specific charter mark

Subject: Stonewall WEI Criteria

Dear All

I went to a briefing yesterday on the new Stonewall WEI criteria, and they have changed a number of areas to be more prescriptive on what they are looking for, for example introducing a 90% D&E training threshold of all staff.

From our perspective I think we will struggle to meet a number of their new criteria or areas of evidence being asked for, in the short term at least. I was wondering what those who take part in the WEI, what your perspective was?

Is you want to respond to me directly I am happy to compile a list of responses and send them onto those that respond / ask for the comments
