Hi Everyone

I thought this is quite a nice way to get data for differing county councils in England. It gives you how many older people are in differing types of housing accommodation and how many will be needed projecting forward until 2035. This might give useful figures and arguments if you are trying to do other access related work in a particular area. You have to register to use it but then it seems straightforward.

Regards

Marcus

SHOP@ - Important new data and figures included

Dear Network members,

Over the past twelve months, SHOP@ - our online analysis tool endorsed by the Department of Health - has supported improved commissioning strategies and business development plans for housing and care services for older people across the country. The enthusiastic response about the quality of the 'intelligence' available and ease of use has demonstrated that SHOP@ has assisted many partners to improve their knowledge and understanding of their market and helped shape the future direction for new service developments for older people.

With the Care Act and draft regulations and guidance calling for better market shaping, the sector needs to respond to new challenges and an ever tighter financial envelope. SHOP@ provides the opportunity for better planning and improved risk management, essential in maximising investment benefits and making improvements in service delivery.

Hot off the press, SHOP@ has now updated its background data from the new ONS population figures released in May 2014 and the current service provision information provided within EAC's (Elderly Accommodation Council) database.

You can now access this most up to date information within the new authority-wide consultancy review offered through the latest version of [log in to unmask]

The review includes

- Future service need projections, now until 2035
- Authority benchmarked against regional and national norms
- Assessed service prevalence rates relevant to local service provision and commissioning strategies
- Opportunity to update service provision data within the SHOP@ database

Whether a single district/borough council, county council or unitary authority, for an authority based commissioning review, you can also contact us to discuss your specific requirements.

The more detailed SHOP@ locality review, which priorities investment at community or MSOA level, also this updated data and our bespoke service includes:
- Amending service prevalence rates over time
- Support service decommissioning by linking to asset management plans that review how fit for purpose current accommodation will be for future needs.
- Supporting links to wider service reviews and community development planning

And finally, our free website will continue to offer the initial SHOP@ analysis based on the ONS 2010 release and the original EAC database information.
