Dear all

There are some really nice examples here – we have something similar in our Inclusive Practice Showcase http://blog.dundee.ac.uk/inclusivepractice/ - but I’m wondering if anyone has any examples of consistent use of the resource and subsequent impact on practice? And whether audio, video or text-based case study resources have most impact?

Best

Hi Alistair

At Edinburgh Napier, an online LTA Resource Bank has been developed for colleagues to use for this purpose. It was developed within our Academic Professional Development team by Karen Strickland (now at RGU) and an IT colleague. There was some investment in its development (creation of the environment, tagging of entries to enable easy searching, promotion of the opportunity, analysis of inputs and the linking of it to Jorum so that it could be accessed externally) but the time involved for colleagues to contribute their practice is really very short and the procedure straightforward.

It has proved to be an excellent way to share – and even build on – practice. We have also linked it to conference themes through annual Best Practice awards in different LTA area (eg feedback) based on entries within the Resource Bank. Hi,

I wonder if you might be able to help me. At Abertay we have been busy revamping our intranet pages on teaching and learning and would like to include a range of good practice case studies from across the university but trying to make this a reality can be challenging given the multiple demands on staff time etc. I would be very interested to hear other institutions’ approaches; is this a familiar issue  or not? If so, how have you got round it e.g. use of multimedia etc?

Many thanks in advance,

Alastair

Hi Lorraine,

I was invited by the University of Bristol to submit a case study  in 2012 which has been downloaded 174 times since February 2012 and has had 140 hits. Its title is "Teaching mathematics and statistics: promoting students' engagement and interaction".

My recent publications on enhancing teaching & learning are here and may be of interest if you are looking for articles and papers.

Do let me know if you have difficulty in accessing it.

Kind regards,

Meena
