Evaluation of the "effectiveness" of the Intuitive Logics Scenario Method (both UK/EU / non-EU fees covered)  Informal enquiries to: Dr George Wright, Department of Strategy & Organisation ([log in to unmask]Applications to: Hilde Quigley ([log in to unmask])

The focus of the studentship is on developing and using attitudinal and other measures to evaluate the effectiveness of scenario planning interventions within organizations. Do such interventions lead to improvements in management thinking? Do they challenge and improve management thinking? Do they lead to improvements in management decision making? If so, what aspects of the scenario intervention are responsible for these effects? The studentship will appeal to a psychology graduate - with a good grasp of methods and analysis – who wants to re-orientate from studies in the psychological laboratory to studies within real-world contexts.  The studentship will contribute to evaluation of - and improvements in - scenario planning practice. A good way into the extant literature is to read a short book by Wright G and Cairns G “Scenario thinking: practical approaches to the future” – published by Palgrave Macmillan in 2011.
