Closing date: 11pm on Sunday 15 June 2014 Academic Development Manager: Academic Quality and Student Experience Salary: £54,896 p.a. + Benefits Reflecting strategic investment in a major curriculum area of strength, the role holder will take responsibility for the operational management and oversight of Ravensbourne’s Design courses (in the areas of Product, Interaction, Architecture, Interior Design, Graphics). This will include the line management of the cluster’s subject leaders and the development of curriculum, including the introduction of new courses covering areas of work in demand by industry. The post holder will also take responsibility cross faculty for student experience and academic quality at undergraduate level. The role holder will lead academic implementation of the Institution’s quality processes and Student Engagement Policy. Additionally, he/she will facilitate the development of innovative approaches to the enhancement of the student experience bearing in mind Ravensbourne’s strong focus on employability, entrepreneurship and work-based learning. This will require a focus both on supporting the transition of students into Ravensbourne and on ensuring that the student experience at Ravensbourne is highly industry relevant, technology focused and future facing. Collaborating with other Academic Development Managers, the post holder will support the implementation of the Institution’s student-centred learning and teaching strategy. Ravensbourne places particular emphasis on learning innovation e.g. user-focused online learning tools and on supporting academics in the development of pedagogical research projects which lead to enhancement of the student experience and the commercialisation of academic assets. In line with the person specification outlined in the job description, we are looking for candidates who have strong academic and management skills and also the ability to provide strategic leadership in the areas identified.
