*With apologies for cross-posting*

Booking is now open for this year’s Conference, to be held once more at the Royal York Hotel, right next to York railway station. The dates are Wednesday 3rd and Thursday 4th September 2014, and with a slightly earlier start than usual on the Wednesday, we aim to pack even more into the two days.

The topics confirmed so far include:

  • Collection development in public libraries
  • Accessibility issues for electronic resources
  • A project which looked at providing textbooks for students
  • Managing volunteers in public libraries
  • A look behind the scenes of the new Library of Birmingham
  • JISC will be there to tell us more about the Journal Usage Statistics Portal (JUSP)
  • …… and much, much more.

More information will be posted here as it becomes available.

With at least nine papers, and the chance to attend two out of four workshops on offer, this conference should certainly live up to previous years. Feedback from 2013 included:

·         Again an excellent array of speakers – good mix of subjects

·         A good mixture of presenters and topics

·         Brilliant. Lots of relevant (and new to me) topics. Lots of helpful advice & ideas to share with colleagues at my institution

·         Thoroughly enjoyable and very useful!

·         I haven’t been to NAG for the last 3 years or so, and this was really a noticeable improvement in terms of locale and logistics etc, in addition to the high standard of presentations/workshops. I found it all very well run and very interesting.

We have maintained last year’s prices, at £325 + VAT for members and £375 + VAT for non members for bookings received before 1st August, and £350 +VAT/ £400 +VAT for bookings received after this date. These are the rates for full conference, but we also have a wide range of flexible options which are set out on the booking form.
