The School of Languages, Linguistics and Cultures at the University of Hull wishes to appoint a full-time Senior Lecturer in Italian Studies.
This is an exciting opportunity to join a thriving, friendly and dynamic School and strategically contribute to steering the direction of the School and Italian Studies within it.
The successful applicant will be expected to lead the Italian Studies section and teach across the range of programmes offered within the School, from beginners to
degree level standard. You will have native or near-native competence in Italian. Extensive experience of teaching and researching in Higher Education would be essential. Experience in the teaching of broad-based culture modules covering some milestones of Italian culture from the Middle Ages to the present is desirable.
The successful applicant will teach on a range of interdisciplinary culture modules at both undergraduate and postgraduate level with emphasis on the 20th and 21st centuries including inter-alia cinema and other expressive forms of visual art and popular cultures.
A research interest in 20th and 21st century Italian culture (broadly defined) is essential and an interdisciplinary approach to the subject will be desirable.
You will be expected to make a significant contribution to the research culture of the School and shape the future direction of Italian Studies. It is expected that the successful applicant will have an established research track record.
