I was particularly concerned with this extract – my emphasis:
“We have beautiful landscapes, and they too are part of the inheritance of the next generation. To preserve them, we must make other compromises. If we want to limit development on important green spaces, we have to remove all the obstacles that remain to development on brown field sites.”
The devil will be in the details of course, but that language is not especially reassuring.

Oh well if that’s the case then I would close the debate about the C4SL. All the money spent on the research and then this announcement. Seems a backward step to me. It would be interesting to see how much legislation will be relaxed in order for the objectives to be met. Will people be living on Cat 2 sites. Where will minimal, tolerable, low, acceptable risk be placed now. Maybe there was method behind the madness. Who knows?
