Hi Andy,

We create our own customised language pack and have been using the en_GB version as a base for the last few years. The main advantage for this was that the dates are displayed in UK format which as I recall was something that couldn’t be customised in en_US.

The only issues that we’ve had have been related to building block updates where we’ve had to add an extra language pack file with the same name as our customised language pack. If we had been using en_GB this wouldn’t have been a problem though.

We are currently on SP12 but will be customising the April 14 version shortly.

Kind regards,

Tim

Subject: Re: Languange Packs. UK v US

Hi Andy,

We have been using the English (United Kingdom) language pack for the last couple of iterations of Blackboard. We are currently running SP11 and have been testing with the same language pack on SP14 for our summer upgrade and encountered no issues.

Best wishes

Pete

Hi folks,

As our upgrade looms ever nearer, we are planning on recreating our language pack.

Previously we have taken the US language pack, and de-americanised it, adding our own institutional language in the process.

We did this, as we perceive that there have been some issues with the UK language pack.

Obviously, starting with a UK language pack would save us the pain of de-americanisation.

Has anybody experienced any issues with the standard UK language pack over the past year?

Many thanks in advance
