Mac archives shed light on Normandy artificial harbours

A collection of documents relating to the harbours is kept in the archives
at McMaster University. The collection, which takes up 10 boxes, has been
there since 1976 after being purchased from U.K. bookseller Bertram Rotz.

The documents were originally owned by British Colonel Vassal C.
Steer-Webster — who co-ordinated all aspects of the project — and include
previously classified documents from the British War Office, drawings,
blueprints, laboratory reports, correspondence and more than 700 official
photographs with security classifications, censor stamps and war office
identification numbers.
