Dear All, Rather than us giving our tuppenceworth ad tedium re. Gavin or Sandra, perhaps we ought rather to reflect on whether this listserve has become a blunt instrument for discussion. If I am to receive 87 emails every single time someone makes an innocent mistake in the spirit of debate, then I would rather not be signed up to the forum. Clearly a professionally based listserv such as this is not the place to enter into the game of trolling such as that in question and attempting to take a stand against a bully is obviously best not made in this context and I apologise for such an ill-judged attempt. Expressing one’s personal dissatisfaction is best not made with such crude comments or in such a ribald display of expletives and I again apologise for any offense caused. Making light of or questioning a person’s mental health is best not made in such a public forum especially when one’s own is in such a current state of disarray and I apologise to all for any offense caused. I am more than willing to accept any disciplinary action brought against me and again I urge the owners of this listserv to remove me from it.
