Researcher in Epidemiology or Health Services Research

National Perinatal Epidemiology Unit (NPEU), University of Oxford, Old Road Campus, Headington, Oxford

Grade 7: £29,837 - £36,661 p.a.

Applications are invited for the full-time post (part-time considered, minimum of 60%) of Researcher in Epidemiology or Health Services Research. This new post is funded by the Department of Health/National Institute for Health Research (NIHR) until 31 December 2015 in the first instance and is based in the National Perinatal Epidemiology Unit at the University of Oxford Old Road Campus.

This is an exciting new opportunity for a researcher with epidemiological and/or health services research experience. The postholder will be responsible for the project planning and analysis for agreed projects within the Policy Research Unit for Maternal Health and Care, the UK Obstetric Surveillance System (UKOSS) and UK Near Miss Surveillance Programmes (UKNeS). You will be part of a multi-disciplinary team with expertise in epidemiology, statistics, obstetrics and public health, developing new project proposals as required and hence gaining experience of literature review, collaboration with clinicians, analytic methodology and research management. You will help prepare articles for publication in peer-reviewed journals and may be asked to present study results at meetings.

We are looking for someone with a postgraduate degree in epidemiology or health services research or equivalent experience along with practical experience of data analysis and writing of research papers.
