Walking the Land

The Art of Walking
artworks inspired by walking

an exhibition hosted by The Museum in the Park, Stroud and jointly curated by Walking the Land

Stroud's Museum in the Park, will host the exhibition in their main gallery. It will be shown alongside 'Laurie Lee. Poetry, Art & Landscape', an exhibition of the previously unseen artworks by poet, writer (and walker) Laurie Lee, whose centenary is being celebrated this year.
The Centenary Celebrations have already attracted media attention with broadcast and print media including the BBC Radio4's daily news and current affairs programme 'PM', The Independent, Observer and Guardian as well as Gloucestershire's local media. The official Laurie Lee website gives further information about the celebrations - http://laurielee.org/

Invitations are invited from artists, makers, film and video artists, cartographers, sound artists, sculptors, writers, poets et al, to submit work that's inspired by walking.
It's an open brief, but you may want to refer to Laurie Lee's works as a starting point. You can utilise any media and that can stretch across disciplines.
In addition to finished works, the organisers are keen to include work in developmental stages, work-in-progress and sketchbooks.
