Subject: IPv6 workshop - preGDB - CERN - 10th June 2014
Date: 13 May 2014 14:08:32 BST
To: <[log in to unmask]<mailto:[log in to unmask]>>

Dear Colleagues,

(with apologies for cross-posting)

The June pre-GDB day (full day at CERN on 10th June) will be a workshop on
IPv6 (and how it affects WLCG).

The intro for the workshop says the following:

"CERN is running out of IPv4 network addresses. Other opportunistic
resources may at some point become available to WLCG on nodes or virtual
machines that only have IPv6 addresses. WLCG needs to move towards all
outward facing services being run on dual-stack IPv4/IPv6 systems to
support IPv6-only clients.

This one-day workshop will present the recent work by the HEPiX IPv6
working group and the related WLCG task force on preparing for this
transition and discuss future plans. We also aim to provide guidance on
the configuration and management of systems and sites and allow time for
discussion and questions.

This workshop is primarily aimed at WLCG Tier 1 and Tier 2 system
administrators. Networking staff and site management will also be very
welcome as is anyone else interested from the sites, experiments or WLCG
operations teams."
