The Division of Movement Disorders (Director: Tanya Simuni, MD) in the Department of Neurology, Feinberg School of Medicine, Northwestern University, Chicago, IL USA, has an opening for a full-time postdoctoral position to study imaging-related biomarkers in Parkinson’s Disease. The candidate will be mentored by Dr. Todd Parrish (Director of Neuroimaging, Department of Radiology) and will work closely with Dr. Darren Gitelman (Neurology). The position is funded for a 2 year time period. The aim is to use both structural and functional MR imaging to characterize measures of Parkinson’s disease diagnosis and progression. The candidate will work with a multidisciplinary group of neurologists, physicists, neuroradiologists and neurophysiologists with experience in functional and structural imaging of patients with movement disorders. The clinic is staffed by 4 movement disorders neurologists. The imaging infrastructure includes two 3T Siemens Trio Scanners, and there are advanced parallel computing resources. The applicant should have a PhD in neuroscience, physics, psychology or a related field (research track MDs are welcome to apply), and excellent communication skills. Experience with analysis of structural, diffusion, or functional MRI data including resting state or ASL images is desirable. Salary is based on the NIH scale. The position is available immediately.
