Dear all

I have 2 new vacancies at the Centre for Life (in addition to the Education Officer post, which closes on Friday!). We will be developing two new permanent exhibitions between now and summer 2016. The first project, “You, the Scientist”, will be a publicly-accessible laboratory space in the heart of the science centre where participants will take on the role of a laboratory scientist. “Brain, Mind and Culture” will be an exhibition at the intersection of Neuroscience, Psychology and Anthropology, intended to display the process of investigating the brain (rather than only the results).

I need two people to help deliver these projects, both full-time posts for a fixed-term of 2 years:

SENIOR EXHIBITION DEVELOPER
£22,000 - £25,000 per annum (dependent on experience)
The Senior Exhibition Developer will be the main point of contact between the in-house project team and external contributors (including designers, contractors, consultants and expert advisors). With support from the Exhibition Researcher you will help to shape the intellectual content and visitor activities featured in the exhibitions.

With a degree (or equivalent qualification) in science or another subject relevant to the development of science exhibitions (or an equivalent level of professional experience), you will have experience of developing content and/or activities for an interactive exhibition or new media project and a successful track record of managing small projects.

EXHIBITION RESEARCHER
£17,000 - £18,500 per annum (dependent on experience)
The Exhibition Researcher will provide content research, content development and exhibit development input to capital exhibition projects. Working to the Head of Special Projects and with the Senior Exhibition Developer, you will help to shape the intellectual content and visitor activities featured in the exhibitions.

The successful candidate will have a degree (or equivalent qualification) in science or evidence of equivalent professional level experience. A self-starter with a curious, imaginative mind, you will have some experience of working in science communication, public engagement or education.
