Black out of white in half brightness.
Colour reduces, browns darken. Tracks
through snow; slurs where feet went, hooves,
tyres.
Noise of a dry motor.
Sound
of children becoming noise.
A dog shaking itself on the edge
of a wintry lake. Hardened water
broken into cascades of cracks.
Enclosing ice groaning
comb and paper squeaks.
