The SPRING ISSUE of CINE-FILES OUT NOW
(UNIVERSITY OF ST ANDREWS’ CENTRE OF FILM STUDIES NEWSLETTER)
The Centre of Film Studies at the University of St Andrews has been publishing a bi-annual newsletter of staff and postgraduate research activities for several years now. Edited by doctoral students at the Department of Film Studies, contributions to the newsletter have increased each year, and now, alongside conference and research reports, it also includes interviews with film scholars and practitioners. In this publication, we celebrate the hundredth anniversary of cinema in St Andrews, and the successful year of Reel Film Society Screenings organised by film studies staff and students.Cine-Files also features interviews with important personalities: the renowned film scholar and St Andrews Professorial Fellow Richard Dyer, the chief curator of the EYE Film Institute Netherlands Professor Giovanna Fossati, and the Walerian Borowczyk film retrospective programmer Daniel Bird. The number and the diversity of conference and film festival reports, film programming events, staff publications and invited talks, attest to the impressive expansion of research activities by a dynamic and active film studies community at the University of St Andrews.

All the best,
