Dear All

For Systematic Reviews I export the results out in lots of 200 into Refworks and then deduplicate in that. HDAS has a small upper limit for how many results it will even divide into lots of 200, so in those cases I do the search in Ovid and again export to Refworks.

I hope this helps

Sarah

When we were asked to update a systematic review the only way to do such a search was via supplier interfaces as HDAS just cannot cope.

Many thanks,

I don’t know the answer to this but I do find that I, too, often need to download large numbers of results. Our users often do systematic reviews (though not for Cochrane). Maybe this is something that could be considered for development? Not every searcher wants just a few specially selected results.

I’ve been having problems saving 348 results on HDAS. Even when I try to save them in two sections I keep getting timed out on IE7 and Google Chrome. Apart from copying page by page from the results list (copying over 30 pages takes forever) does anyone have any suggestions?

The reason why I need to save such a large number of results is because it’s needed for a systematic review on Cochrane. The search consists of nearly 70 lines and has to be done on Embase and Medline and I keep getting error messages. I do manage to recover the search but it’s taking an awfully long time. Not to mention the fact that the researcher keeps coming up with new search terms …I’m slowly losing the will to live…
