There will also be the issue of copyright - the non-NHS organisations won't be covered by the NHS England licence. Fair dealing will be the only terms on which they can
Your online journals will also be contracted for NHS staff at the moment, and you may have to negotiate different terms in licences.

Best wishes

Subject: Library services to non NHS organisations

Good morning,
Here at Basildon, our pathology department is merging with that of Southend and a private company. The Basildon staff, about 200 will be working for a new , non NHS organisation although will still be onsite. This is something which is obviously going to happen more and more as services are outsourced to the private sector. We have been asked if they will still have access to library services. Our inclination, and that of our Education Director is that we should negotiate a contract for educational services including the library, with the new company. Does anyone have any experience of this sort of situation and how have you resolved it?
Many thanks,
Liz Hunwick MA, PG Dip LIS, MCLIP
