Hi Caroline, We only have an LRC presence on Moodle. Aside from the College's website (aimed at prospective students) Moodle is the only other student interface. It contains all College info, support services info and course info. We have a Learning Resources section accessible from a toolbar which is at the top of every page. Within here students can access all of our LRC eResources, information about the service, a suite of study skills guides, etc. We also embed resources and ebooks directly into course pages to ease access and encourage use. This works well for us as students can access all their materials and resources in one central place, as you mentioned. In your scenario, who is your library web presence aimed at? If it's aimed at exactly the same people who would be using Moodle - an no one else - then I think it would make sense to combine. I would be interested to hear about any situation in which it hasn't worked well. The idea behind it is so that all resources will be accessed seamlessly via one interface - this can be achieved by us integrating our resources into a library tab and also adding specific resources in relevant units anyway, but the idea is being pushed forward. I have concerns about this, as I feel we do need a library web presence, and we also don't want to put all our eggs in one basket.
