Hi George - and anyone else having trouble accessing these,
Apologies - we have noticed problems clicking through links sent via Outlook Web Access previously, though it doesn't always seem to happen. In addition, the original link had picked up the period at the end of the sentence which doesn't help.
Please do copy and paste the links rather than clicking through directly if it's a problem for you:

I think it's this one from the University of Leicester:
http://www2.le.ac.uk/offices/ld/resources/study/reading-and-note-making.
They also have a great animation on critical thinking (http://www2.le.ac.uk/offices/ld/resources/study/critical-student).
At the University of Reading, we've developed several animated video resources including suites on essay writing, exams and referencing. They're all listed on
http://www.reading.ac.uk/internal/studyadvice/sta-videotutorials.aspx. You're welcome to link to them, but we'd appreciate it if you'd let us know so we can demonstrate their impact! We're currently working on a suite on dissertations, and one on effective
academic reading to go out with pre-arrival reading lists, so do keep checking back.

Subject: Animation showing students developing effective study skills - lost!
Hello all,
I hope you can help me – I have lost a link!
I found a brilliant short animation on a UK university’s website that told the story of two students and their differing approaches to preparing for an essay. While one student rushed around in the
library, trying to read as many books as possible before falling asleep at their desk, the other student sat down with a cup of tea in the university café, made an essay plan and then went off to the library to select a few choice texts.
However, I am a terrible student and did not make a record of where I found this animation – I thought I would remember, having referred to it several times, not so long ago. Teach me to rely solely
on my greying matter!
If you are familiar with the animation I speak of, I would be very grateful for the lost link.
Also, if you know of other animations covering academic learning, I would be very grateful for the reference, which I promise to look after very carefully!
Kind regards,
Emma
