Representing the industrial design profession on the world stage, 1957 to the present

This studentship investigates the governance and operations of the first International Council of Societies of Industrial Design (ICSID). Founded in London in 1957, ICSID aimed to promote the status of industrial designers. By the end of the 1960s ICSID included over 40 member societies from more than 30 countries.

The project is led by Professor Jeremy Aynsley supported by Dr Lesley Whitworth.
