And hello from me as well.
Likewise I have just been approached by Phaidon Atlas as well with the same offer as detailed below.
I am feeding back about the user log in subscription issue as it does not look to be a feasible subscription model for universities when in theory our subscriptions
are available to everyone (even if in practice a smaller group will be interested) .
I’ll also be feeding back about the access process as well, which is currently individual registration (initially done in a specified IP range) although they
also say that Shibboleth and Ezproxy access is being scheduled for later in the year.
It would be interesting to compare the content for all three of these resources to see if there is any overlap and which are most useful although of course
that usefulness could change depending on the focus of the users. Of course the costs and the access processes do have a big impact as well.
Kind Regards

Subject: Phaidon Atlas RE: Detail Inspiration V AJBL
Hi all,
We have also just been approached by Phaidon (product manager, Robert Easson
[log in to unmask] )
with offer of a trial to Phaidon Atlas – see below.
They have given us some pricing based on user logins and it would make it expensive for us.
Would this be another service we’d want to try and negotiate an ARCLIB deal on?

Featuring 10,000’s of previously unpublished technical drawings and plans of key buildings completed since the year 2000, the Atlas is one of the world’s largest resources for those studying contemporary architectural practice.
The website features a growing list of over 3000 examples of contemporary architects work built since the year 2000 with new projects being added daily.
Covering every conceivable building type from across the globe, each project is accompanied by technical drawings, sketches and photographs allowing students to research in detail, contemporary design solutions from some of the world’s
most creative architects working today. Users can search, filter and save information by building type, architect, location, materials and structural elements.
Each project has been carefully selected and curated by Phaidon’s architecture editors, as well as an international team of architects, critics and leading academics.
The website can be accessed from
www.phaidonatlas.com for a quick preview
If you would like to set up a faculty trial to evaluate the product, or would like further information about this new service, then please do not hesitate to contact me and I will arrange this for you.
I look forward to hearing from you.
