The Institute of Statistical Research and Training (ISRT), University of Dhaka  is organizing the International Conference on Applied Statistics (ICAS) 2014 to be held in Dhaka, Bangladesh during Dec 27-29, 2014. The theme of the conference is Applied Statistics: Meeting the Challenges of the 21st Century.  The main aims of this conference are to highlight the emerging areas of statistical applications, promote the interaction of statistics with other disciplines and create public awareness in a developing country like Bangladesh about the role of statistics as a key technology for development. ICAS promises a stimulating environment where participants can interact, exchange ideas, form new collaborations and present their research findings to a large statistical audience. Researchers, academicians and representatives from business, industry, government bodies and non-government organizations are invited to participate in this event. Among its many sponsors, the American Statistical Association is also a sponsor of this event.

Online abstract submission is now open for ICAS 2014. Instructions for abstract submission are available on the conference website http://sites.isrt.ac.bd/icas2014/ . ICAS 2014 invites original papers in ALL areas of statistics with novel applications in any discipline. Although applied papers are encouraged, theoretical contributions are also welcome.

Registration (Early bird):                         30 September 2014
