COLLECTING DATA
This course is all about the best ways to collect data, covering questionnaire design, data entry (with Excel and SPSS) and basic issues of sample size (how much data do you need?). No prior knowledge of statistics is assumed. Anyone who needs to deal with data in their work should be able to participate fully.

COPING WITH DATA
This course is aimed at everyone who needs to cope with data by producing summaries, both numerical and graphical. No prior knowledge of statistics is assumed. Anyone who needs to deal with data in their work should be able to participate fully.

ANALYSING DATA
This course is aimed at all who have groups in their data that need to be compared and contrasted or who need to examine their data for relationships that may or may not exist, whether the data come from a survey, experiment or elsewhere, and covers topics in hypothesis testing, simple and multiple regression.

INTERMEDIATE/REFRESHER COURSE IN STATISTICS
This is a course aimed at all who wish to improve their competence and confidence in analysing data from surveys and experiments. You are encouraged to bring your own data for discussion/analysis. It is assumed that delegates on this course will have a knowledge of probability, the Normal distribution and hypothesis testing. Those whose experience of these topics is some time in the past should find sufficient reminders given to enable them to participate fully.

ESSENTIAL TOPICS IN MULTIVARIATE DATA ANALYSIS
This course is aimed at those want to gain an understanding of some of the most commonly used multivariate analysis methods, namely factor analysis, cluster analysis and discriminant analysis. These techniques are used in a range of disciplines and examples used in the course will be accessible to all audiences including PhD students, researchers and those who need to use these techniques in the workplace.

ADVANCED DATA MODELLING
This course is aimed at those with a working knowledge of statistics who wish to learn about or improve their competence and confidence in using more advanced methods of analysing data, including psychologists, behavioural, health and social scientists.

CRASH COURSE IN HANDLING DATA
This course is aimed at those who need to deal with raw data and successfully prepare it for analysis. The flexibility and visual layout of Microsoft Excel makes it an excellent tool to use for these purposes. If you handle raw data and have Excel on your computer then you need these skills.

ONE-DAY FAST-TRACK COURSE IN STATISTICS
This course is aimed at those who have a good ability with numbers, are familiar with Microsoft Excel and are happy with handling data but lack the formal understanding of the basic statistical techniques. The delivery will be fast-paced in order to fit the topics into the one day. If you want a course that takes a more considered approach or you are in the least bit concerned about your ability to cope with Statistics then please look at the other courses we offer.

SELECTING A SUITABLE SAMPLE
This course is aimed at those who are planning a study or survey and want to make sure that the sample they choose is (i) representative of the population they are studying; (ii) large enough; (iii) not larger than it needs to be. This course is appropriate for researchers from many different fields, including psychologists, behavioural, health and social scientists. It is assumed that delegates on the course will have a basic knowledge of statistical techniques such as confidence intervals and hypothesis testing.
