Dear all,

I am Youngok Choi, a lecturer in School of Engineering and Design at Brunel University, and currently running a design research project 'Measuring Social Values of Design in the Commercial Sector' funded by AHRC, in collaboration with Cardiff Metropolitan University. The project aims to understand the social values of design, especially in CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility) practices, and explore contextual issues, values and means of measuring social impact of design.

This project has created and run an open knowledge-sharing platform and open discussion forum, as an online repository of on-going research results and debates. The main purpose of running the platform and forum is to effectively communicate and engage with a range of stakeholders including potential beneficiaries and the wider public to foster a better understanding of the social value of design, and to access their ideas and opinions on the issues.

I would like to invite you to visit the project website at http://www.socialvaluesofdesign.com to find more information about the project and join our discussion on the role(s) and values of design in CSR practices and means of measuring social value of design.

Kind regards,

Youngok
