Dear all, I would like to draw your attention to an exciting position for a full chair in design at the University of Twente in The Netherlands. As part of the mission of the University of Twente to connect ‘hi-tech’ to ‘human touch’, the design group plays an essential role as its concerns lie in making technology available to the individual and society at large. In considering design as the interface between innovative technologies and people, design research at the University of Twente not only aims for societal acceptance of such new technologies, but also recognizes that design adds value by contributing to economic and cultural progress, as well as contributing to flourishing and empowerment of the individual. In hosting technology-based faculties and a behavioral sciences faculty (taking in a unique place among the Dutch technical universities), the University of Twente harbors the multidisciplinary environment for connecting people and technology. The chair of Design, creativity and research will play a leading role in the Design Lab. The Design Lab at the University of Twente is a cooperation between various research groups of the University including Industrial Design, Human Media Interaction, Robotics, and social science.
