ARLG London and South East have arranged the following free visit:
Visit to The Royal College of Surgeons of England Library & Archives
Date: Tuesday 2nd December, 2.15-4pm

The visit will include a talk, a tour and the chance to look at some displays from the library and archives collections. Attendees will then have the opportunity to visit the Hunterian Museum (http://www.rcseng.ac.uk/museums/hunterian ), admission free, open til 5pm.
The Royal College of Surgeons of England possesses an outstanding library of surgical literature that dates from the late 15th century to the present day. The historical material is of national importance in documenting the achievement of British surgery from the 18th century onwards through its printed collections, prints, drawings and archives and in providing a provenance to the collections housed in the Hunterian Museum. In 2013, the collection was awarded Designated Status<http://www.rcseng.ac.uk/library/about-the-library/designation> by Arts Council England.
The archives of the Royal College of Surgeons of England holds both institutional records and other deposited collections providing a unique resource illustrating the development of surgery and the surgical profession.
