If you fancy an interesting read you might like to have a look at Toby Young's critique on educational thinkers - confidently titled "Prisoners of The Blob:
Why most education experts are wrong about nearly everything" . 

I pass no comment on the content or indeed the end notes (!) but if you are familiar with Young you'll know that, as well as being an associate editor of the Spectator, he  is also the co-founder of the first free school to enter into a funding agreement with DfE.
